With this demo you load in a color image of choice, and via the menu, a so-called D4 wavelet transform is applied with a final, standard wavelet transform quadrant map displayed showing the end of the wavelet test, along with the recovered image.
Technical: The G4 is able to do the wavelet alegbra in the stunningly low count of 3 vector ops per full-color pixel. The G4/G3 speed ratio is thus about 5x. This kind of technology will be important for JPEG2000 and similar wavelet-based image compressors.
